Co-Pastor Berry
Co-Pastor Pamela Berry gave her life to Christ at the tender age of 10 while attending her childhood church, Bethel Church of God in Christ under the leadership of the late Eld. C.J. Jackson and Eld. Isreal Ervin. She was called to the ministry in 1970. Pam and her husband founded Gethsemane Church of God in September of 1989 in Topeka, KS. They celebrated 25 years in September. She is currently holding the positions as Co-Pastor, Church Administrator, Executive Board member, Minister of Music and President and Founder of the Women of Destiny of which she orchestrates an anointed Women of Destiny Women’s Conference Women’s Prayer Breakfast, and Women’s Prayer Luncheon annually. Co-Pastor’s ministry has opened doors for her to speak at various churches and women functions. Her ministry is that of a unique style in which she uses props to demonstrate her message. When she speaks, you can usually expect to leave with something tangible to remind you of her message. She is an effective witness of Jesus Christ wherever she goes. Her passion is young people and hurting women. Her love for the youth has caused many to start attending church if they have never been before. She lives her life by her favorite Scripture – Phil. 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.”
We are GWC Topeka
We are a community of faith committed to following the teachings of Jesus Christ in a way that is inclusive, compassionate, and transformative. We believe that all people are made in the image of God and that diversity is a gift from the Creator. As a progressive Christian church, we seek to engage with the world around us, working for justice and equality for all people.
The Power of the Bible
We affirm the divine inspiration, truthfulness and authority of both Old and New Testament Scriptures in their entirety as the only written word of God, without error in all that it affirms, and the only infallible rule of faith and practice. We also affirm the power of God’s word to accomplish his purpose of salvation. The message of the Bible is addressed to all men and women. For God’s revelation in Christ and in Scripture is unchangeable.
